Fairhaven Police Invite Residents to Attend National Night Out, Aug. 7

FAIRHAVEN — Chief Michael Myers and the members of the Fairhaven Police Department would like to invite residents to attend their Second Annual Fairhaven National Night Out celebration next month.

WHEN:

Tuesday, Aug. 7, 5-8 p.m.

WHERE:

Front lawn of Fairhaven High School, 12 Huttleston Ave.

WHAT:

Fairhaven National Night Out is a community-centered evening of fun and events aimed at strengthening the relationship between the police department and the residents of Fairhaven.

Last year, hundreds attended the first Fairhaven National Night Out. Members of the the department and the Fairhaven National Night Out Committee hope to see even more people this year.

The free event is family-friendly and open to residents of all ages.

Features of the event include a K9 demonstration from the Massachusetts Environmental Police, a helicopter landing from the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing and a “Dunk a Cop” dunk tank.

There will also be a DJ playing music and residents will have the chance to tour historic Fairhaven High School.

“Last year’s event was fantastic and there was such a great turnout,” Chief Myers said. “We look forward to another successful event this year where we can continue to build positive relationships in the community we serve.”
