Fairhaven Police Remind Residents of Parking Ban Bylaws Ahead of Upcoming Snowstorms
FAIRHAVEN — With two snowstorms expected to hit the region on Saturday and Monday, Chief Michael Myers would like to remind residents of the town’s parking ban bylaws.
The bylaws are as follows and Chief Myers would like to thank residents in advance for their cooperation:
Snow Parking Ban
182-1 Parking Regulations
No vehicle shall be permitted to remain either on the est side of streets running north and south or on the north side of streets running east or west, during the time of any snowfall or any snow removal operations in the Town of Fairhaven or any other times (midnight to 8:00am) as specified by order of the Board of Public Works. The Board of Public Works is authorized to remove, or cause to be removed, to some convenient place, including a public garage, any vehicle interfering with the work of removing or plowing snow or ice from any way, and the cost of such removal with all storage charges resulting therefrom shall be paid by the owner of such vehicle.
182-2 Violations and Penalties
Whoever violates this Part 1 shall, in addition to the foregoing provision, be liable to a fine of not more than $20 which may be recovered by indictment of complaint before a District Court.
